Fundraising

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financially disadvantaged children suffering from hair loss with hair prosthetics. Every year, approximately 2,200 children under the age of 20 are diagnosed with brain tumors. Radiation treatment to the brain stem often causes permanent hair loss. Roughly 2 million children throughout the U.S suffer from alopecia areata, an auto-immune disorder that causes hair follicles to shut down. In addition, ectodermal dysplasia and severe burns result in permanent hair loss.

The goal of the Locks of Love committee this year is to build on the foundation set in the past years, figure out new ways and ideas to spread awareness about our cause, and get more people interested and excited to grow and donate their hair. Hair to be donated must be at least 10" or longer and free from chemical damage. Hopefully, we'll be able to spread the word and make Locks of Love better than ever!

The Locks of Love Committee is contacting local salons to make sure they are aware of various hair donation programs including Locks of Love, Children with Hairloss, and Beautiful Lengths.
