Scope

The Scope tag identifies the content of a row or column much as a Header tag does, but with less repetition since it appears once at the top level of a table, rather than in every row.

It is used in this site to describe column headings for the IBM Home Page Reader keystrokes table.

Code Example

<caption>IBM Home Page Reader Keyboard Shortcuts
</caption>

<tr>
<th scope="col">Action</th>
<th scope="col">Keystroke</th>
<th scope="col">Comments</th>
</tr>

<tr>
<td>Play</td>
<td>Space bar</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
