Why can't I read my CAEN email with mail.umich.edu?

mail.umich.edu only works for ITCS IMAP accounts. There is, however another server, that Engineering students can use.

How long can I keep my email access after graduation?

We are responsible for maintaining mail.umich.edu, which will function as long as you have a subscription to the UMCE IMAP Service. One's IMAP subscription is only guaranteed to exist for one semester after graduation for students:

When your service is discontinued, the UMOnline service allows you to maintain subscriptions to UMCE services after graduation:
