About Robert Hauk
Robert is one of the most highly-regarded close-embrace style dancers
in the Northwest. His main tango inspiration is Susana Miller of
Buenos Aires, with whom he has studied extensively. His other
important influences are Cacho Dante, Nestor Ray, and more recently,
Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa.
Robert has spent signifcant time in Buenos Aires dancing with the
old-style milongueros. During the last six Labor Day weekends
(September 2000-2005), Robert has taught at the highly acclaimed
"Colorado Milonguero Tango Weekend" in Denver. He has also taught
workshops in Anchorage, Atlanta, Memphis, Pittsburgh, and Phoenix.

About Barbara Durr
Nationally recognized as one of the foremost teachers of the apilado,
or milonguero, style of salon tango, Barbara has been teaching and
dancing tango for over a decade. She has had lengthy experience in
Buenos Aires milongas. In her teaching, she focuses on the elements
of tango the she feels provide the deepest and richest dance
experience: an intimate connection between partners and intense
musicality.
Also, because this style of tango is for social dancing on often
crowded dance floors, she specifically teaches the compact
choreography that is appropriate when dance etiquette requires respect
for everyone else on the floor.
A protege of Susana Miller, she is also influenced by Cacho Dante,
Brigitta Winkler, Lorena Ermocida and many other great and talented
teachers. She teaches in her home city of Atlanta and around the
United States, including festivals in Denver, Portland, and
Missouri.
Barbara, formerly a Latin American correspondent for a major daily
newspaper, first traveled to Buenos Aires in 1981, but did not see
tango there until 1988, when she became acquainted with a
milonguero.old, alone and broke.who was dancing on the street for
tips. She was captivated by his dancing and followed him around for
two days, meeting his family and interviewing him. While she never
wrote that story, it metamorphosed into her documentary film project,
called Chasing the Ghost, which is still in production.
