These ads are offensive because they objectify and promote violence against women. The woman in the ad on the left is depicted as a stripper, even though her Cesare Paciotti apparel would have cost her a small fortune. This objectifies the woman by putting her on display as an object used solely for her body, as well as makes it seem as though a woman's top priority is fashionable clothing, despite the reality that many women are driven to stripping due to extreme poverty. The woman in the ad on the right is posed so as to give the appearance that she is dead, the ultimate state of helplessness. This makes it seem like women in this position are "beautiful" and promotes sexual violence as "glamourous." These ads create a rape culture, where sexual violence and misogyny are considered acceptable.
