The NPA volunteer group annually hosts an expert on sexual violence issues to speak about the work she does in her field and her findings. Hosting a speaker requires a lot of effort and energy on the part of the volunteers, as it requires a lot of fundraising.

Speakers in the past have included Dr. Jean Kilbourne (creator of the "Killing Us Softly" film series about the media’s portrayal of women and sexuality) and Leora Tanenbaum (author of Slut!: Growing Up Female with a Bad Reputation and Catfight: Rivalries Among Women – From Diets to Dating, From the Boardroom to the Delivery Room).
