Factors to Consider as You Choose a University
• Will I receive a quality education that will prepare me for a rewarding professional career once my rowing career is complete?
• What academic support services are available to student-athletes?
• Will I live in a campus environment and community that is diverse, comfortable, enjoyable, secure, and conducive to learning?
• How well does the school I attend best prepare its undergradautes for postgraduate admission? How many of its undergraduates go on to post-graduate study, including in medicine and the law?
• Will I have the opportunity to reach my potential, physiologically and athletically?

• What caliber student-athletes will surround me at this school?

• Will my abilities fit into the team's style and training methodologies?
• What is the expertise and background of the coaching staff, and how do they relate to rowers and people in general?
• What are the competitive goals of the current rowers and the team, and do they coincide with my goals?
• What is the personality of the head coach? Will I be able to communicate with the head coach on and off the water in a positive way?
• Do I feel comfortable with the current rowers in the program?
• Is the school really interested in what is best for me first as a student and second as an athlete?
• Will I make this rowing program better? Will I become a better student-athlete by being part of this university's rowing team?
