USEFUL THINGS
graphic design (old)
Here are random things I've created which may be of use to you.
Helios
~ download | screenshot
Helios is a basic vortex lattice method (no wake) code for rotors (single chordwise division) written in MATLAB. It's inelegant, verbose and annoying to use, but the results converge and agree with measured data for the S-70 rotor (the only rotor I tested). Helios.m is the main script file, which also contains the rotor geometry inputs. Some of the plotting functions alone may be handy for your projects. No documentation provided, but the code is somewhat commented. It is released under the BSD license. I'm actually working on a C++ version, which will be better by a factor of about infinity.
Mirlyn Search Plugins
~ install
I created two search plugins (Firefox or Safari) for searching Mirlyn, the University of Michigan library catalog. They're now in use on all UM ITCS computers.
Resume Template
~ download | screenshot
This is my resume template created in Microsoft Word, set in Garamond and Georgia. I've received compliments on my resume so I thought I'd share the layout. If you're in an IT or Computer Science related field, I'd recommend expanding the "Computer Skills" section, possibly adding subsections. Figuring out all of the movie references: 1,000 points.
Wikipedia Equation Shrinker
~ install
This Greasemonkey user script shrinks large equation images on Wikipedia by 36% (linear) for better printer-friendliness. The script should be activated only when printing, because the resized equations are much less legible onscreen. You may need to refresh the page for the script to take effect. Trigonometric identities now looks a bit neater on Letter paper.
