| A warm welcome
from the Faculty Women's Club!
We are a diverse collection of women, numbering
roughly 650, who have come together to explore ideas, establish
contacts, discover shared interests, or simply to enjoy each
other's company. The club was formed in 1921 and we are currently
celebrating our 86th year. For information about membership
eligibility please visit our membership
page.
The club takes special pride in offering events
for women who are newcomers to the university community and
Ann Arbor. The events are listed on the club calendar. We
particularly hope you can attend our The FWC Annual Potluck Lunchen on Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 at the home of Fran Gordenker, 1689 Arlington Boulevard, Ann Arbor 48104, as well as the Newcomers TGIF on Fridiy, November 6, 2009 at the home of Liz Messiter, 4671 Sawgrass Dr. E., and the Newcomers TGIF, on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the home of Aydan Golaszewski, 2132 Brockman.
The Faculty Women's Club boasts 37 interest
sections. You can read descriptions of each section by clicking
HERE or on the
"Interest Sections" button at the left. Contact information
for each section is listed.
I also invite you to join us at our Oct.22, 2009 Fall Reception, where representatives of all the FWC interest sections will be
available with information and answers to your questions.
The reception will be in the Michigan League Ballroom from
1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Light refreshments will be served. The Michigan League is located at the corner of North University and Fletcher. Although daytime parking on campus tends to be scarce, there is ample parking downtown, just a few minutes away by foot or by AATA bus.
For another opportunity to learn more about the club and meet some members in a casual setting, please join us for Drop-In Coffee at Zingerman's Deli, 10 am to Noon on the first Monday of the month: Oct. 5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7 and in 2010 on Jan. 4, Feb. 8, Mar. 1, Apr. 5 and May 3.
Finally several club members have put together a booklet of handy tips to help you orient yourself to our wonderful region. Titled The Ins and Outs of Ann Arbor, it can be viewed or downloaded in pdf format.
Cordially,
Aydan Golaszewski
