Limited Availability
Because the Billiards Room is a programming facility, there are many different student activities and programs taking place several nights a week. At certain times, we may have to limit the size of reservations. In rare instances, we may not be able to accept reservation requests at all, but we will make every effort to accommodate your group if it is logistically possible! The best approach is to submit the simple request form (click on "Request form" to the left), and the Assistant Manager will discuss alternatives if necessary.
Monday Nights:
Student video game tournaments some weeks, starting at 8:00. The video game stations will not be available, but availability of pool, snooker, billiards, and foosball will not be affected. The room might be a little busier/noisier than usual. Not applicable in summer.
Wednesday Nights:
Student video game tournaments some weeks, starting at 8:00. The video game stations will not be available, but availability of pool, snooker, billiards, and foosball will not be affected. The room might be a little busier/noisier than usual. Not applicable in summer.
Fridays & Saturdays:
Weekend nights are the Billiard Room's busiest times. We may be able to accommodate small reservations, up to 6 tables, but we will not be able to extend a group discount. On Friday nights during the school year, the Billiards Room accommodates the UMIX Late Night program, so tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis only after 9PM. If you are a U of M student, come to UMIX and enjoy some free pool and tons of other free activities and food in the Michigan Union!
Alternating Fridays and Sundays:
The Billiards Club meets from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Front half of the room is unavailable; limited number of tables available in the back of the room.
Mid-October:
Annual U of M Team Pool Championships (UMTPC) - our biggest event of the year! No pool or snooker tables are available from Friday at 3PM until approximately 7PM on Sunday. Video games and foosball may be available. Come cheer on the U of M team in three different events (8-ball, 9-ball, and straight pool) against other intercollegiate teams from Virginia Tech, University of Akron, Indiana University, Purdue University, University of Illinois, Mansfield University, Ferris State University, University of Western Ontario, Ohio University, and more!
